JDW Waterhouse, Manchester 22 Jan 13. Mørk gylden. Lavt, litt farget skum. Teppelacing. God søt karamellaroma. Antydning til frukt. Smaken er litt syrlig karamell.

Cask at the Gate Clock, JDW - Greenwich, London. Pours clear, golden-brown with a creamy white cap. Nose of dry, semi-dark fruits, toast, brown bread. Medium sweet flavor with lightly toasty leaves and twigs, sugary brown bread, faint toffee, light earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish, some toasty sugars, light dry bread, leaves, mellow caramel. Simple and tasty bitter.

Pint at the brewery. Lots of good toffee flavours, touch of butterscotch and low hops - which fitted well for the style (unlike some of their other beers... ahem...) . The only beer of theirs I would drink more than one of.

Half pint, cask at JDWs Waterhouse in Manchester. Nice appearance with a nitro cream, white head to a clear golden-brown coloured body. Carpeted lacing to the glassware. Aroma is subdued and jam-like. Caramel and marmalade taste leading to a decent bitter ending. Foamy in the mouth. Fine bodied. Likable (22.01.2013).

Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Stag and Hounds, Binfield.Reddish chestnut with a ring of translucent head; slightly spicy aroma; soft and malty with lots of caramel; followed by a gentle bitterness. Full bodied and satisfying without being too heavy.
