Brewed in the style of a German Kölsch beer with a good balance of pale malts and Dana hops.

500ml Bottle: BBD Sep 14, poured into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged pint vase at home on 5th Aug 14. Huge head of white foam, didn’t get even half the bottle into the glass, it was so lively. Slight haze to the pale golden body with plenty of carbonation bubbles rising through. Yeasty aroma and initial taste with a pleasant blend of hops balanced by the malts. One of the tastiest Kolsch biers I’ve ever had (mostly fresh in Koln), this was more bitter and had something about it compared to some of the original or American versions I have come across. A well put together beer and a lovely surprise in it’s flavours, a fine take on a style of beer I often find bland and uninteresting.
