Bottle. Yellow colour with a white head. A very standard cheap lager beer. Light malty and hoppy aroma and flavour. Why do Aass produce all this standard stuff with different labels, when they allready have a standard good lager beer.

330ml bottle. Clear golden body with a dense white head. The aroma has a faint hint of malt. Flavor is a bit sweet malt and fruity with almost no hop at all. Body is a bit watery. Rather average.

330ml bottle. Pale golden body topped by a small foamy head. Notes of fruits and wheat in aroma. Orange fruity sweetness in taste mixed with a touch of barley malts. Overcarbonated. Fairly standard Norwegian pilsener (21.11.2006).

(Can 50 cl) Pours a clear, pilsener golden with a white head. Fresh, lightly hoppy aroma. Medium body with some lightly sweet pilsener malt. Very discreet hopping. But quite quaffable. 150906

Biggish white fine-laced head. Golden body. Very light mealy buttery aroma. Smells more like biscuit dough than a properbeer, but not unpleasant. Taste is light grassy malts with a soft dough and spice-like taste aftertaste. Well balanced, but devoid of character. Boring, but ok. (0.5l can.)

Can. Pale golden with a decent white head. The aroma has a vague, disappearing fruity note, but it is soon replaced by a weak vegetable aroma, and nothing else. Malty, grainy flavor with some hay. Not much bitterness to be found. Lightly sticky and thin body and almost no finish. (060529)

(500 ml can, brewer not stated). My retailer tells me Aass is the actual brewery behind this anonymous contract brewed swill, distributed through Roma Mineralvann, a soft drink producer and distributor at Romerike, just north of Oslo. The beer has a very light golden colour, a good head and a weak, grassy aroma. Very light bodied. Typical weak and "neutral" macro swill flavour with notes of vegetables. Too weak hops to create much aftertaste, the little aftertaste you get is not good. Won't buy it again. BTW, "Tømmermann" in Norwegian means "carpenter" (literally "timberman"), and this beer's name alludes also to the fact that a hangover in Norwegian is called "tømmermenn" (=carpenters hammering away in your head). I won't be drinking enough of this swill to get "tømmermenn", that's for sure.
