Half pint, hand-pulled cask ale at Magnet. Fawn-colored head leaving dotted spots behind. Coal black body. Roasted malty aromas. Liquorice, coffee, and oatmeal flavours. Fine bodied considering the low abv. Pretty nice stout (Stockport 03.02.2015).

Cask at a nicholson’s near Covent Garden. It pours dark ruby with small beige head. The nose is toasty, blueberry, jammy, roasted malt, earth and liquorice. The toasty, earth, mild acidity, roasted malt, dark fruits and jam with a dry, fruity finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. A bit weak, but not bad.

Cask at the Falcon, CLJ, 11/04/14. Light black meets extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate light tan covering. Nose is roast malt, grain, earthy cocoa, liqourice. Taste comprises toffee, dark fruits, touch papery, light roast. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying finale. So so stout, lacks any real depth or flavour, but drinkable none the less.

Cask @ Bank, Manchester. Nicholson’s Beer Festival. Very dark but not quite black, with a small creamy off-white head. Has a fairly sweet aroma, much like a porter, although its body and taste, despite being fairly weak are obviously stout in design.

Cask (Lambton Worm JDW, Sunderland) - Very dark brown with some red tinges. Roasted malt and plain chocolate in the aroma. Roasted and chocolatey taste with coffee and chocolate detected.
