Cask at the Wainwright, Keswick. Brown-black with a beige head. Sticky and earthy with chocolate, a slight sourness and some soot. Not the best this.

One-third pint, cask ale, sampled at Baum. Fawn-coloured head resting on top of an almost black coloured body. Spotty lacing. Coffee and chocolate nose. Lactose sweet chocolate with grain and a touch of coffee. Mid-sweet malty ending, smoothly roasted. Medium bodied. Nice. (Rochdale 02.05.2018).

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Very dark, certainly milky with stated roasted malts. It's also smooth tasting.

Cask at Tap House. Pours a deep amber brown with a creamy brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has lots of dry dark grains with some roast and a touch of lactose. Flavor starts with creamy dark grains but finish is dry dark grains and light lactose.
