Sample at Broad Leaf (as Brewery Vivant Brewer's Cider). Hazy straw color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lace. Apple, wheat and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of apple, malt and a bit of spice. The finish is fruity with an apple aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Vander Mill, pours a clear pale blonde / near-water colour with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out gentle funk and crisp apple acidity. Flavour is along the same lines, with gentle sweetness, crisp apple acidity, and light mustiness. Crisp and clean but ultimately uninteresting.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Oak Creek. Clear pale gold, thin wispy head, poor retention. Aroma of tart apples, earth, mild tannins. Taste is apple, pear, apple juice, earth. Medium bodied, mild tartness, dry, mild carbonation. Decent.

Sampled from a 16oz can this cider poured a pale yellow color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was dryish and musty with egg white and a hint of coder vinegar. The flavor was very dry with phenol and a bit of apple. Medium length finish. Medium body. Not good.

Can shared. Clear very light straw with no head but quite some bubbles. Lots of sweet apple juice with a nice amount of tartness, some apple skins dry white wine and mineral notes, but mostly just apple. Light bodied and medium dry. Nice alcoholic apple juice.

16 oz. can from Binny’s. Packaging on this seems too mainstream "Smith Forge-ish" for a craft cider. Let’s see: Pours nice and fizzy, with no head after pouring, just a light yellow color with agreeable fizz. Smell has some nice apple juice character and alcohol note, but I also think there’s an edge of sulfides. Still, it has a straight-ahead apple cider taste, a little sweet, followed by a tart apple edge, and no chemical processing notes like so many megabrewed ciders.

can - Pours pale gold with a tart apple aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet, definitely on the dry side as hard ciders go. It’s a pleasant drink that’s refreshing and finishes dry.
