Milk stouts are brewed with sugar from cows milk to give the beer a sweet, creamy tone. For this take on the style we’ve made a stronger, more opulent version of our original Milk Shake recipe with lavish amounts of chocolate malts, vanilla and the addition of cacao nibs. The result is a complex, rich and satisfying beer. Store upright and pour gently.

Bottle at home. As Wiper & True Hard Shake. Batch 04. 10% ABV. IBU 19. Black with no head. Deep dark roasted chocolate malts, something earthy, nutty, hint of truffles. Massive sweet and moderate bitter. Full body and soft carbonation. Quite decent but looks a bit dull without a head. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imperial Hard Shake (batch4) on 20 Oct 2017 at 22:01 - Score: 7. Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. 10%. Nearly black. Slim ring of tan head. Nose has bitter chocolate. Milky coffee. Some bonfire toffee. Bit of raspberry like fruitiness. Taste has brown sugar sweetness. Some earthy bitterness. Silky mouthfeel. Nicely rich. Easy drinking. Milky coffee to finish. Very decent, albeit not overly complex.

Bottled 330ml (Beergium, batch 04 "Handshake", ABV 10.0%)
Dark brown-ruby, almost opaque colourm small vanishing cola-like head. Roasted, vegetably coffee bean aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, hides ABV quite well and feels thinner than could expect. Licorice root, lactose, vanilla, cocoa is not very evident, roastyness, vegetables, coffee. Restless imperial milk stout. Lactose doesn’t work here so well. Maybe previous raters have had better batches.
