Canned (from Vinmonopolet, drank at Vuotson Maja B&B). Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is fudge, toasted, some smoked ham and vanilla to it. Flavour is fudge, vanilla, smoked ham and some alcohol. Strange, but actually quite much fun drinking this.

Opaque colour, small brownish head. Heavy on lactose in the nose, toasted, some smoke. Medium to full-bodied. Sweet lactose, rubber, roasted malts. Sweet, smoke ham and messy.

Solid evening sipper this one Black pour (surprise) and a solid fine beige head Creamy fine texture and a good intensity in the aroma Quit chocolate dominated. Also some roast, toffee and some spices Well masked alcohol [Can from Vinmonopolet Oslo City in Oslo, Norway]

Rerate, 330 ml can, as Cervisiam Gryla Imperial Christmas Stout, from Vinmonopolet Hinna. ABV is 10%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate and lactose, a hint of wood and dark berries. The flavour has the same elements, distinct sweetness but really not too much for a 10% beer. And yes, the hint of tobacco is still there. I'm changing the score a bit. Original rating: Sample from can at Fridtjofen's Yule beer tasting 2019. Black colour, decent head. Aroma of roast malts and dark chocolate, hints of dark berries. The flavour has the same elements, but is too sweet, and has also hints of tobacco. Will re-rate if I get a full can.

Tap @ Sori Taproom, Helsinki. Poured pretty much black in color with a tan head. Roasted malty aroma with notes of ash and tobacco. Ashy dryness, roastedness in flavor. Tobacco finish. Light chocolate notes.

Shared can at the yuletide beer tasting on board Fridtjofen 13th and 14th of December 2019. Dark brown. Solid aroma and taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark berries and citrus. Long aftertaste.

330ml can from Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Oily pour revealing a decent tan-coloured head dissipating over a pitch black body, clingy lacing. Rich roasted dark malty nose with chocolate scent. Powerful dark malty flavours containing confectionery chocolate on a backbone of moderately sweet lactose. Warming smooth chocolate finish. Oily palate, full bodied. Lovely sipper late on a dark Yuletide eve. (Tromsø 25.12.2019).

Forholdsvis pålitelige notater fra årets maritime juleølsmaking ombord på Fridtjofen: kveldens nest siste, og stemningen er som forventet helt upåklagelig. Ikke et promillefritt blodomløp i sikte! Brunsvart med fint skum som varer. Mørke sjokolader, bjørnebær og diskret citrus. Fin bitterhet som balanserer de heftige inntrykkene, og bortimot en kabellengde med mersmak.

Draft. A black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, prunes, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla, roasted malt, prunes, and raisins, leading to a dry roasted finish.
