Bottle. An unclear, brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is quite roasted, almost burnt. Some bread crust, dried dark fruits and a whiff of banana. It’s dry and medium bodied, nicely carbonated, although low for the style, and with lots of roasted flavors. Bonfire, prunes, grassy hops, bread and some toffee. Long malt dominated finish. Not much of a dunkelweizen this one, but it’s sort of interesting anyway. 161118

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Haugesund. Called a "dark wheat beer", ABV is 5.5%. Cloudy brown colour, low off-white head. Wheaty aroma with notes of banana and cloves, hints of brown bread and dishwater liquid. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. Tolerably refreshing flavour, wheaty and citrussy notes, hints of cloves and pepper, but again an unfortunate hint of dishwater liquid. Drinkable, but not a beer I’ll buy again. You can buy any German-brewed Dunkelweizen on the Norwegian market, and it will be better than this.

Bottle at home. The colour is hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma of spices, wood, chocolate, sulfur, some banana and bread crust. Malty flavour of bread, chocolate, dried fruit and wood. Some acetone. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A bit light and unbalanced dunkelweizen. Nice malty tones though.

330 ml bottle. Unclear brown body with a small but dense tan head. Aroma has malt, toffee and yeast with a hint of fruit. Flavor is medium fruity dark weissbier with some toffee and quite much yeast and low bitterness. Medium body and OK aftertaste. A bit on the sweeter side and rather safe, but otherwise a pretty nice dunkelweiss.
