Can 330ml (Tallinn) Amber colour, small white head. Berryish, hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Herbal bitterness, some berryish sweetness, fruits, marmalade. A bit messy DIPA-like brew with extras, not balanced.

21/V/22 - sample @ Leuven Innovation, BB: n/a (2022-543) Thanks to Sebletitje for sharing today’s beers!

A little cloudy orange beer, creamy dense yellowish head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: wow, lovely, very dank, very hoppy, cheesy, tropical fruits, heavy, sweet, overripe fruits, sweaty feet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, fruity, nice bitterness, fruity, ripe fruits, mango, good! Aftertaste: bitter, very dank, good bitterness, ripe fruits, a bit of sweet malts, very nice, love it!

Sample during Leuven Innovation '22, shared with Tderoeck and Untappd duo.

Double IPA by an Estonian craft brewery unknown to me so far – big thanks to Roman G. for the sample! Thin and open, snow white ring and flat ‘veil’ of foam in the middle of a hazy, deep amber-orange beer with coppery hue. Intense nose of dried wormwood, grapefruit zest, pink peppercorns, dry biscuit, gin, ‘herbes de Provençe’, persimmon, indeed cherries (or even cranberries), toasted bread, tamarillo, old brown honey, lightly toasted peanuts. Clean, rounded onset, hints of persimmon and pear with even a faint touch of lychee, medium carbonated with full, oily body, the exact mouthfeel I expect from an old school DIPA. Lovely biscuity maltiness with peanutty and toasty edges, essentially caramel-sweet but this toasty bitter edge perfectly supports an expressive, grapefruity and leafy hop bitterness adding notes of mango peel, pink peppercorns, sweet toasted onions and orange zest, all accentuated by a warming but undisturbing afterglow of gin-like alcohol, managing to make its presence felt without overpowering the play of malts and hops. I got very little of the added sour cherries though, they somehow hid under all those hops – but did accentuate their fruitiness in a sophisticated, subtle way. Very well done – this is essentially old school West Coast DIPA with a fruited twist. Lovely, I need more from these guys!

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Fresh hoppy alcoholic aroma. Starts fine hoppy, fruity notes of apricot, mild alcoholic. Some woody hints as well. Finish well balanced, still strong, spicy touch, fine hoppy. Nice one!
