Pours gold from the bottle. A frothy white head fades to a thin layer and lingers. Aroma is full of straw, a bit herbal, dusty. Straightforward dry mild bitterness from begin to end. Medium body, moderate carbonation. A run of the mill pilsener.

330 ml bottle into lager glass, bottled on 3/3/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. A bit of fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Slight lingering hop astringency, but not overwhelming. Nicely clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a very nice German pilsener. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the moderately bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful for the ABV. Clean and nicely rich pils malt showcase, with nice noble hop presence/balance. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Clear golden beer, lively bubbled to huge, if not longlasting very light-yellowish head. Bit dusty, dry malts’ nose, dried herbs, ever so slightly grassy. Faint bitterness, near hoppy in the finish, and dry-ish maltbacking, but all indifferent, laid-down, uninspired. Carbonation, spritzy at first, then fades away. Light body, bit slick. Ho-hum Pilsener. GE has much better to offer.
