A rich, chocolate and vanilla scented oatmeal stout in the body of a pale ale. Its a hop-tical illusion! All the rich smoothness of a traditional stout but in the body of a pale ale. This smooth-as-silk limited edition brew starts with delicate with notes of vanilla and chocolate before the deeper smoky coffee flavours come to the forefront, finishing with a complex malt-driven after-taste. This is a stout. But not as you know it.

Appearance: Cloudy ochre yellow with a nice off-white head. Aroma: Coffee, biscuits, vanilla, fruity motes. Taste: Light sweet. Coffee, biscuits, vanilla, fruity motes, slightly vinous. Distant hop. Mouth feel: medium body, average to lively carbonation. Summary: Pretty strange as the most of white stouts. Not bad though.

330ml bottle from In Pivo Veritas in Moscow. Pours dirty gold with a medium-sized head. Aroma is earthy, malty, some coffee. Taste is light sweet, roasted malt, caramel, light bitter finish. Light bodied. Quite neutral for a pastry stout. More stout than pastry.
