Draft at State Street Kitchen. Dark, muddy brown, skin of beige head. Sweet, lightly roasted malts. Taste is earthy, peaty, sweet, dark malts, brown bread. Real soft and the bitterness at the finish is very mild.

12 oz. can from Orem, Utah State liquor store. Pours a crystal clear dark mahogany color with a giant tan head and excellent retention. 95% foam and 5% liquid. Fair lacing. Strong caramel malt and burnt sugar aroma. Mixed flavors of caramel and light bourbon with a long lingering finish. No smokey flavor (like most Scottish ales have). A bit too much scotch and not enough ale for my liking. The 9.0% ABV is very well hidden, but warming. Definitely a sipper.
