Bottle from Taniguchi. Deep dark cola black with ruby highlights and a tan head. It has a soft cocoa aroma and minty herbal hops. The taste is good too, medium bodied with a well balanced bitter hop character and dark Kakao. Tasty.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is grapefruity, roast, coffee, Pours dark brown with a one finger collapsing beige head. Taste is moderate to highly bitter, roasty; slightly tart finish. Not bad. I haven't had a black IPA in a long time.

On tap at the Hood River brewery. Clear dark brown with reddish edges. Thick dense long lasting light tan heqd and lacing. Very nice chocolate and medium roast aromas. Mild hop bitterness. Smooth roasty flavors and hop balance. Lacking the big sharp bite of some cars . Very tasty.
