Cask at the Pottle of Blues, Beeston. Amber/light brown, clear with little carbonation and almost no head ... Smells of raw grain, agave syrup, sticky malt. Bittersweet taste with a surfeit of leafy hop coating the tongue in preparation for the finish. Substantial body for the ABV. A capable recipe which is more than the sum of its parts.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Hazy, dark gold. Fairly thick, bubbly, lasting, off white head. Nose is spicy and quite floral. Hint of aniseed and wood bark, oddly. Some fruit in the background. Taste is light bitter, with a little astringency, although not to any detriment. Light to medium body. As with most Ashover bottles, this is in lovely nick. More of the spice on the close.
