Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 31A: rye / 20A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L14122020 (BBF 12.2021). AROMA: medium to medium-high dark roasted aroma with a cocoa and dark chocolate character, followed by medium-low isovaleric. low peppery notes from fry on the background. APPEARANCE: very bark brown color with dark ruby body against light. clear. medium-low light brown head with low retention. slight lacing. TASTE: initial medium-high unsweetened cocoa that evolves into a sharp burnt flavor. medium-high bitterness from hops and roasted grains with a dry and burnt finish. rye not detected MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium-low carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a rye porter with american tones, too much roasted on the flavor masking the star ingredient.

330ml. can. @home, 22/01/2021 [#3.744 Global - #198 Portugal - #37 Dois Corvos] Pours Brown with a medium tan head. Good retention, poor lacing. Aroma: cocoa beans, roasted malts and liquorice. Taste: dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Choco finish. Next one please!
