We love brewing big flavoursome Imperial Milkshake IPAs and this is no exception. We decided to reincarnate an old trendy beer style - the Black IPA! with our own Wander beyond twist. Dry hopped with El Dorado and brewed with strawberries, cacao nibs and vanilla. This beer is creamy, bold and lush.

Very special. All described flavours are there. Sweet and bitter roast, some hops. Lots of chocolate, bunch of lactose, strawberry. Awesome label. Fun stuff, and a delicious dessert.

440ml can from Honest Brew. BBE 25.03.19. Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, chocolate, vanilla ice cream, cocoa, hints of hops, strawberries and milky creamy notes. Taste is smooth, slightly sweetish and creamy with some roastiness, tropical fruits, herbal hops, pine, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, vanilla ice cream, hints of strawberries and milkshake notes. Finish is smooth, hoppy and slightly roasty with some vanilla milkshake notes, strawberries, chocolate, coffee and cocoa. Super smooth and quaffable for a 11% beer. Quite bizarre and complex, pretty over the top in Omnipollo way, but somehow I still like this one.

Can. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Ridiculous price tag, but I was intrigued. Nearly black. Ring of sticky, tan head. Nose has Neapolitan ice cream. Tinned strawberry. Scorched grapefruit. Melted chocolate. Some vanilla custard. Definitely delivers on the aroma. Taste is sweet and chocolatey, with a punchy, grapefruit bitterness. Mouthfeel is rich, slick, and silky. Low carbonation. Absolutely no way this feels 11%. This has to be the easiest drinking beer at this kind of ABV, I’ve ever had. Long lasting, bittersweet finish. That a brand new brewery even contemplates a beer like this, is interesting. The fact they can pull it off makes me keen to try more. Bonkers, but good.

Can. This would be an 'Imperial Black Ice Cream IPA with chocolate and strawberries. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Aroma of cocoa and strawberries. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Interesting flavour, kinda like an adult dark chocolate based neopolitan cream. Mellow dark chocolate, soft vanilla and a slighty tangy ripe strawberry. Light finish. Amusing and fairly drinkable but no discernible relation to any type of IPA.
