Bottle. A dark brown beer, unclear, topped by a beige head. Quite mild aroma, spiced, roasted, with some coffee and dark chocolate, licorice, dark dried fruits, hints of citrus and a touch of alcohol. It's full-bodied, lightly warming, smooth and softly carbonated, with a flavor of roasted malts dominating. Cardamom, cinnamon, licorice, dark dried fruits, some coffee and a touch of cocoa too. Some alcohol notes. Lasting finish. Quite complex this one, but a bit untidy. Perhaps it just needs more body. 210908

Bottle. Clear dark brown, almost black body under a big, lacing, long lasting beige head. Aroma of mild, moderate roasted dark malt, hint of coffee and vanilla. Tase is super smooth dark malt, mild roasted, some coffee, chocolate and vanilla with balanced bitterness. Fine body and long lasting pleasant aftertaste. All in all, a really nice, smooth strong ale with go balance, not too sweet, just enough bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Not able to recognize the Christmas spices, for me this was just like a hint of vanilla, perhaps the 9 month storage has effected the spice flavor.

500ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet City Nord. Lacing rings from a film-type layer, deep black body. Dark malty aromas, forest scent to it. Similar taste of forest and dark malts, Yuletide spices beneath. Roasted dark malty ending. Does not taste that strong. Pretty good Yuletide brew. (Rating session at Finn's with lmojoh, Finn, and djoeye, Tromsø 28.01.2021).
