A special collaboration with our neighbours and friends at Elusive Brewing. As Andy has been campaigning so successfully for #BIPACOMEBACK, it was an easy decision to work on a Black IPA together. A carefully considered selection of malts balances perfectly with complementary hops, leaving this beer buzzing in vibrant orange, pine and berry aromas.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Light to medium sweet, really well rounded, dry, some ashy roast, toasted pine, grapefruit, baking cocoa, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Refreshingly bitter ashy roast and resinous pine to finish, some bittersweet dark chocolate, more citrus rind. Sound from top to bottom.

Can ordered from Elusive. Aroma combines dark coffee and grassy hops with a roastiness. Opaque cola brown. Thin if creamy beige head. Sour start. Tart berries. Followed by coffee and charcoal bitterness. Underlying burnt caramel comes through into the finish and adds a good dose of sweetness. Although the bitterness remains. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long somewhat bitterness with a touch of the astringent. It's nice. But you know, just nice. Unimposing.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 20/02/21. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a good sized khaki covering that retains well. Nose is burnt toffee, mellow roast, pine needle, liquorice, dried red berries, dusty hops. Taste comprises bitter tropical fruit tones, pine needle, light charr, pinch of spice, Cola cubes, brown bread, light hop spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with moderately aggressive dusty hop bitterness. Solid CDA action offered here ... style boxes have been smashed out of the park.
