A blend of two iconic flavours packed into a luscious stout.
A match made in heaven! Arguably two of the most loved flavours of chocolate and orange combine perfectly in this rich and deep stout. Big chocolate notes arise from the blend of dark chocolate malt that we use in the mash.Flaked oats are also used to add a velvet-like body which works wonders for this particular style of beer. Dried orange peel is introduced in the hop back to add a subtle citrus note to this flavour packed ale. At 6.1% it has great body and is a super representation of the legendary stout style.

Bottle from HOTM. Pours black with small beige head, leaves nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, molasses, liquorice, chocolate, orange oil. Very roasty, dark chocolate, liquorice, fig and orange peel, rich and dry. This is not an artificial beer at all. The chocolate and orange has been added to enhance an already decent stout as it should be. Medium bodied, smooth, slightly chewy finish, soft carbonation. Its a thumbs up from me.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with ruby highlights and a beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and orange zest. Flavour of milk chocolate and a tangy fruity finish. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Silky smooth. A quality beer.

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Decent, durable, beige head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Pretty black in the glass with a ruby glint. Inviting chocolate malts on the nose, lightly roasted, and added by a scent of citrus. Taste quite alright with ripe orange flavours mixed with mid-sweet, earthy malts. Malt-fruity bitterness towards the ending. Smooth on the swallow. Medium bodied. Something else and pretty good. (Tromsø 19.03.2021).

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.1%. Black colour, large tan head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, orange and mild coffee. The flavour has the same elements, and is not too sweet. Also a hint of liquorice. Moderate hops.

Masses of chocolate in the aroma here, along with hints of dark fruits and milkiness. Pours a very dark brown – almost black with a decent but transient beige head. In the mouth the orange comes first with the chocolate following later. There’s treacle caramel and boozy rotting fruit in there too, but a recent stouty roast malt feeling underneath it all. A dry and bitter finish. Very nice but perhaps slightly too much fruit ?
