A blend of two iconic flavours packed into a luscious stout.

A match made in heaven! Arguably two of the most loved flavours of chocolate and orange combine perfectly in this rich and deep stout. Big chocolate notes arise from the blend of dark chocolate malt that we use in the mash.Flaked oats are also used to add a velvet-like body which works wonders for this particular style of beer. Dried orange peel is introduced in the hop back to add a subtle citrus note to this flavour packed ale. At 6.1% it has great body and is a super representation of the legendary stout style.

Black beer, thick off white head. Sweet zesty aroma with a little maltiness. Tangy orange flavour up front but it's not overwhelming, there's a good amount of toasty malt and chocolate. It's not the most complex flavour but it does what it says on the tin and it's well balanced with a nice richness to it.

500ml bottle from ASDA and drunk at home. Very dark brown, opaque with a small beige head. Aroma of cooking chocolate, a little bit of candied orange, some repeater, a bit of coffee grounds. I expected it to be super-sweet. It isn't, but neither does the balance lend it a pleasant quality. It's got some acrid bitterness near the finish that leads to an unfortunate aftertaste. Watery body, high carbonation. Shame, as I thought this might have promise.

Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2019. Cask @ Becketts Bank, Leeds. Black with an off-white cream head. It's similar, but not quite as stated as the bottle version on this occasion. Has a sticky-sweet texture and taste.

Bottle from Asda. 4 for £6. Pours a jet black colour with a thick creamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, dark rich chocolate orange, coffee and nuts. Taste is the same but with more pronounced notes of roasted coffee, dark rich chocolate, nuts and subtle hints of orange. it does not taste artificial at all. Full bodied, rich smooth mouthfeel with a long lingering satisfying aftertaste. Very well made excellent stout!

Very dark brown with fizzy head. Aroma is quite metallic. Flavour has some apple pip. Then bitter chocolate and treacle. A burnt bitterness. Not much orange.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, caramel, aromatic hop. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a roasty, liqouirce, charcoal, dry, fake sugar, light orange citrus palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Tight creamy dark tan coloured head stayed on a slowly carbonating jet black still body. Dark chocolate & orange aroma. Medium bodied, airy to the fire with a short sharp back. Chocolate, nutty, malt & biscuit tastes with an orange backdrop.

Danke an minutemat. Dunkler, mild schokoladiger Beginn. Eher wässriger, trocken herber Hintergrund, steigend röstig. Bitter malziger Mittelteil, süffig, geringfügig nach Orange. Langer schokoladiger Abgang. 9/11/11/12/9/12

Bottle from Asda. Dark brown in colour, with reddish undertones and a frothy, beige, head. Aroma of toasty malts, with some plain chocolate, leafy hops and suggestion of citrus. Flavour had some cocoa beans, more orange and dense malts, before a toasty finish with a Terry's chocolate orange aftertaste. Enjoyable.
