Our infamous stout, Vat Beets, is back by popular demand and this time it’s barrel-aged.

BA Beets is brewed with sweet and earthy beetroot, chocolate and vanilla. It’s sweet, full-bodied and aged to perfection for 6 months in ex-Scotch Whisky casks.

Can from the Beer Gonzo Advent Calendar box. Consumed at home Sunday 3rd January 2021 listening to Sleaford Mods - Eton Alive. We had Venison Burgers and Chips. Pours black with a tan head. A mix of chocolate, whisky barrel ageing, earthy beetroot influences leave you with an interesting beer, not amazing and probably better without the barrel ageing but nonetheless very nice.

440ml can – Pours a deep dark brown colour with an average sized foamy beige head. Aroma is earthy malts, chocolate and whisky. A roasted and bitter taste, some sweetness, bitter chocolate, wood and whisky flavours with some vanilla in bitter roasted finish. Not getting the beetroot but pretty good all the same.

Appearance is black, with a foamy beige head which quickly dissipates. Aroma is beetroot, earthy malt, chocolate cake, cocoa, dark fruits. Taste is chocolate, cherry, cocoa, roast malt, apple, bit of barrel and vanilla on the end, lingering finish, fairly easy-drinking.
