Padstow Pride has an abundance of malty flavour and a smooth finish thanks to a touch of Cornish honey. All the taste of a traditional bitter, only better.

Bottle from AndrewC and drunk at home. Well it’s not great carbonation on pouring it. It has some malt. Some wateryness, which appeared in the smoke one. I mean it feels as though there is water, hops and malt here but they don’t seem to sit happily together. It’s a fairly unadventurous beer which fails to excite or make me want to drink it again. Hmmm. It’s likely I am going to end up the top rater of a brewery whose beers are fairly underwhelming. Some amber malt flavour a little bitter hop on the finish.

Bottle from the Bottle Bank. Appearance - deep amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - toffee, fudge caramel - somewhere in that zone. Touch of chocolate. Taste - caramel and spicy biscuits. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - solid but not special.
