Taster. Pitch black, medium beige head, medium lasting. A bit stronger chocolate nose, vanilla and some alcohol presence, woody - lovely. Moderately sweet, medium bitterness. Some blackcurrant presence, a bit of roastiness. Slight warming alcohol, but quite hidden. Very nice.

Can thanks to Colin the Pervert. It pours opaque black with a decent tan cap. The aroma is rich roasted maltage, unctuous, umami, liquorice, tarry, dark chocolate, damp oak, fruity whisky, fudge, Scottish Tablet, chocolate liqueur and a touch of vanilla. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, dry, tarry, toasty, rich roasted maltage, toothy, plenty of umami, salted caramel, liquorice, chocolate liqueur, cacao, charred, fruity whisky, toasted nuts, sticky fake fruits, prune, date, vanilla fudge, tablet, touch of spice, toasted nuts, rocky road and peanut butter with a dry, roasted finish. Fulsome body and average carbonation. Nice balance and good depth. Enjoyable.

Can. Almost clear very deep dark amber brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth but fairly mellow dark malts. Slightly tangy dark chocolate. Thin dark chocolate fudge. Mildly tangy dark fruits underneath. Little citrus peel. Modest spice. Some plummy whiskey barrel fruits, quite rich, on the back end. Spicy linger. One of the weaker ones in this series, but still very good.

Can from RAD. Appearance - jet black with a tan to fawn head. Nose - sweet whisky and wood notes. Dried orange and light caramel. Taste - caramel and dark chocolate. Wood and whisky. Palate - medium to full bodied. Sweet middle that is slightly dried out by the wood note in the whisky barrel. Overall - nice.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 10/12/20. Pitch black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, mellow barrel, raisins, molasses, dried fruits, toffee fudge. Taste comprises sweet malts, nice chocolate melt, light spice, Speyside barrel, dried fruits, brown sugars, light nutty twang, balanced rising alcohol. Full bodied, fine to soft carbonation, semi drying close with a well pronounced but equally balanced kiss of Speyside whisky. Solid well rounded BA impy.
