Bottle. Branthill Farm Shop. Pretty much black with a slim firm sticky tan foam. Looks well. Char and burnt ends. Bit of cocoa rich chocolate. Bit of treacle. Doesn’t shout the hops but it’s decently fruity and oily. Nicely bittersweet and clean and easy. Lengthy bitterness to finish. Tasty gear.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at E5 Bakehouse. Pours black-brown with a dense, frothy mocha topping. Good and rich, lots of ashy roast charred pine, inklings of citrus rind, burnt grass. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Fairly dry and ashy on the finish, with some bittersweet dark chocolate, more burnt pine, scorched earth, nips of smoke. Hearty gear.
