The biggest religion in America is baseball, closely followed by religion. This cultural extravaganza can’t be properly appreciated in full without a refreshing brew such as the Double IPA, the heavy hitter of Yankee craft beers. Stolen Base is our version. A triple play of smooth malts, citrus notes, and supersize-me hops that leave it bitterer than a Hollywood divorce.

50cl bottle from a Countdown Supermarket in Dunedin. A golden amber pour with a thin white head; malty aroma; initial taste of bitter, over-roasted grains, but then with some grapefruit bitterness[ before a sweet malty finish. Not bad.

Bottle sampled thanks to Jean Mi. Clear mover with off white head. Sweet caramel, light toffee, grapefruit, weedy hops, bready. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. This doesn’t do what it says. Meh.

Bottled. An amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of caramel, hops, citrus fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, hops, cirtus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Slight haze, med amber. Aroma is slightly spicy w lychee, papaya and mandarin. Piney, bitter palate. The crystal chewiness is in the background. Good balance, woody finish shows a bit of the alcohol.
