Handpull cask at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham. Mid- to dark brown, very translucent with a small uneven beige/khaki head. Gentle aroma of roasted malt, some coffee and a hint of liquorice. The latter is more prominent in the taste, with some sweetness pulling back in the finish. Watery body for the ABV and style. Soft to nil carbonation.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized frothy cream head. Nose has malts and coffee, but neither very strongly. In the mouth there are milky coffee, liquorice and roasted malts. Some oats and chocolate come through later. A reasonable stout.

Leeds Beer Festival 2016. Mildly floral stout with an arguably sessionable roasted malt character.
