Stephenson, founder of the Pennine Way, was motivated to campaign for dedicated walkways by a conversation he had with a gamekeeper on the summit of Whernside about him trespassing! Rich chocolate and sweet molasses balanced by the clean bitterness of the hops! Roasted coffee and caramel nose.

Cask-conditioned at the Phoenix, York 11/5/2019. Near black in colour, with a tight, beige, head. Sweetish, caramel notes, some toasty malts, touch of dark fruit and semi-dry finish. Enjoyable.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Dark ruby-brown with a thick frothy head. Has roasted malts in its nose with slightly thin dark malts in its taste. There's some roasted malts again in its aftertaste.
