Tillsammans med grappa-producenten Marolo har vi tagit fram denna dryck. En maltig och söt Balrey Wine med influenser från gamla och nya världen har fått gifta sig med resterna av druvdestillat från gamla ekfat från Piemonte. Sötman från malten balanseras av tanniner och frukt från de iitalienska druvorna i en spännande pikant ny skepnad där råvarorna från två olika drycker möter varandra.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Copper colour with a minor off-white head. Aroma is alcohol, some spices, dried fruits and some wooden and syrupy tones. Flavour is alcohol, some dry wood with some toffee and mild grappa tones. Sweetish with some mild tartness. Highly drinkable!

Burk från SB. Ändå lite synd, en sådan här dryck borde bueljeras. Mahognyfärgad kladdig vätska med lågt skum. Fin kryddig doftdär grappa möter portvin. Söt och kraftfull med värmande alkohol. Koncentrerad torkad frukt, dadelsirap, portvin, fat, kryddor, grappa. Elegant och komplex och riktigt gott. Unik. Jag tänker på Struises pannepot men frågan är om inte det är ännu bättre. Riktigt gott.

Body: Full body, low carbonation.
Flavour: Grappa, malt, caramel, dried fruit, alcohol.
Comment: Good at first in small sips, but gets a bit too overwhelmed by the grappa in a whole can.

Can from Systembolaget beställningssortiment. Dark amber with a minimal head. Dried fruit, figs, grappa, caramel, malt and some wine. Quite potent and unique.

Canned, from Systembolaget. Almost clear dark mahogany colour, minimal head. Rich aroma of caramel, dates and grappa. Mid sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and lots of grappa, notes of cedar. Peppery finish. The grappa flavour dominates, so it is not suoer complex, just damn good and unique!

Burk från SB. Mörkbrun/mahogny med beige krona. I basen en dekadent och kladdig BW med hög sötma. Toner av druvor, russin, katrinplommon, likörpralin, mandel och mandelmassa. Grappan tydlig. Spritig ton, mycket druvor, fattoner, tanniner som stramar åt den annars kladdiga kroppen något. Möjligen lite lacknafta.

I’ve heard there might be some can differences here but what I got was delicious. Malts for days and a ton of BA that for me comes of as cognac/brandy which seems correct grape wise but not what I’d expect of grappa. Haven’t had anything grappa BA though.
