Big, strong and full of attitude yet surprisingly domesticated, this is a well balanced light ale with tropical undertones. Enjoyable and entertaining company on its own, or the perfect match for spicy dishes.

Bottle from Booths, Penwortham, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of nutty malt, faint spice. Taste is metallic caramel. Sweet finish. Barely any hops noticeable.

Lunchtime on 1st Sep 2017. 500ml bottle: BBE May 2018, obtained from Buon Vino, just outside Settle (North Yorks). Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard. Clean and clear amber body, full white crown on top. Malts in the nose and initial taste, piney hops and a light bitterness then kick in, mild fruity notes give the beer some interest and depth of flavour. Liked it.

Cask @ Ale House, Clitheroe. Copper with a head and a malty sweet aroma and taste. Thereโs a tasty grain evident but itโs not full-bodied.
