Big, strong and full of attitude yet surprisingly domesticated, this is a well balanced light ale with tropical undertones. Enjoyable and entertaining company on its own, or the perfect match for spicy dishes.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 12 May 2024) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grass, grapefruit and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grass, grapefruit, a touch of resin, white bread and a balanced citric/grassy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and refreshing. Nice one.

Bottle from simontomlinson, thanks fella. Pours pale chestnut with a beige foam. Aroma: light sweet malts, caramel, earthy hops, fruity hedgerow. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, fairly dry, fruity, caramel, orange, light spicy hop finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Fairly decent English IPA

Creamy tan head stayed on a reddish brown still body. Hoppy, spiced & toffee aroma. Medium bodied, creamy with a sharp back. Bitter, hoppy, spiced, berries & toffee tastes with a long tangy finish. Tastes like a Hoppy Red Ale.

This is a beer with a style identity crisis ! Laims to be an IPA (not strong or hoppy enough) while RB has it as a golden ale (too dark). I would call it a Best Bitter. Anyway, bottle from British Local Craft. Nose is somewhat vague, but has sweet malts along with nuts. Pours the classic “bitter brown” with a small cream head. Floral hops are to the fore in the mouth along with pepper and hints of summer fruits, on top of a sweet malt and caramel base. Finish is fairly dry and bitter. Whatever it is – it’s very nice !
