Anyone expecting an overdose of citra hops here will be disappointed – the rest of us will be relieved ! Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma, but some vanilla and biscuit. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy with floral hops and hints of honey and cinnamon. Later on some tangerine comes through, and the finish is quite citrus heavy. Quite nice – despite the unfortunate name.

Clear golden colour with creamy head. It's a decent, malty golden bitter. Hop profile is more leafy and floral. Not really Citra.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A bright pale amber pour with a thin white head; orangey aroma; cloying taste with a trace of orange fruit; and a soapy finish.

Cask at the White Swan JDW, Solihull. Poured a clear golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light sweet citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, yeasty, light floral, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Generally unpleasant. Bought a pint and left almost all of it.

Cask @ JDW Shrewsbury Hotel. Pours gold with a small white head. Aroma of pale malt, golden ale sweetness. Taste presents a standard cask blonde, light and smooth with distant citra suggestions. Ok.
