Tragedy strikes yet again, this time at the very heart of the Ulfsburg with the slaying of High King Korvus at the hands of the Trolls. The newly crowned King Korvak leads the armies of the Dwarfs to war.

Developed from the success of our rye beers we’ve now added the unique spicy character to the roast and chocolate malt flavours of our porters.

Bottle from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Pours near black, moderate sized beige head, nice retention and lacing. Aroma and taste is sweet, roasted malts, light berries, rye grains, chocolate. Nice level of roasty bitterness in the finish. Light to moderate body, smooth, moreish malts. A very sessionable tasty porter.

27th July 2021. Hand-pulled half-pint, sat with 'Martinsh' in The Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Ruby hue to the dark body, beige head of smooth bubbles. Aroma and taste both have Rye to the fore with a little helping of bitter chocolate for interest.

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton - as Korvak’s Saga Chapter III Lament, but this beer not the 7.6% one. Pours almost black with a small beige head and good lacing. Not a strong nose, but some chocolate in the aroma. In the mouth there is some dark fruits to start off with, but that quickly gets swamped by masses of coffee grounds, chocolate and roast malts. Finish is bitter dark coffee. Excellent, could drink this all day !

Tried in bottle from Crafty Bottle. Almost black colour with a tan head. Aroma has chocolate and a touch of soy with a slight spice. Taste light bittersweet. Full rich body.
