Hand pulled pint on 7th February 2025 at the Pheasant Inn and Brewhouse, Wellington, Shropshire. Ruby hue to the brown/bronze body, beige crust. Toffee like aroma and taste, but not overly sweet, the hops giving plenty of bitterness and some balance.

Dark brown with a ruby tinge and a frothy/creamy tan head. Sweet malt and toffee on the nose, light bodied with a fruity freshness, treacle toffee and dry bitterness up front, earthy hops and roasted malt make an appearance before a dry finish

Cask at Great Western, Wolverhampton. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a sizeable off-white head. Just general malt leanings in the aroma. In the mouth it has a sticky viscous texture, with toffee and treacle as the main flavours. Some hints of dark fruits and roasted malt too. Generally quite sweet overall. Nice enough, but it’s a bit like drinking gravy !

Cask @ White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a thick creamy-frothy head. Has bland rye malts, toffee is at a minimum and only really in its nose.
