A strong lager that offers a perfect balance between the malts, the hops and the high alcohol content. Our Brewmasters recover one of the old Hijos de Rivera historic recipes, the “Especial Extra” (aka La Colorada). Brewed in the only Company’s brewery placed in A Coruña using our traditional methods: best ingredients, long maturing time, passion for the excellence. An intense amber beer. In aroma the balance shifts slightly in favor of the malts, with pleasant sweet notes, caramel-like. The bitterness balances the intense alcohol content and the light piquant aftertaste.

330ml bottle at Lullaby, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear copper colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is malt, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a crisp, malt, toffee, light cardboard, mineral, light metallic, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

11.2 oz. bottle with a pull-tab cap. Pours a clear bronze color with a khaki head and great retention. Good lacing. Caramel aroma. Less caramel flavor than the nose, with a strong/heavy finish. Alcohol warming but not harsh. It's okay. No bad flavors but nothing real interesting either. 8.0% ABV is fairly hidden.

Strong malty aroma. Clear dark hay color, small but long head. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, like common lager. Light to medium body, short finish.
