The Indian Mongoose has all the courage and cunning to devour even its most deadly enemies. Those in the know choose Mongoose, premium beer at its best. A 5.0% abv lager brewed with Hallertau and Hersbrucker hops. Its exceptional smoothness and soft carbonation make it the perfect match for Indian food.
Launched in June 2010 in collaboration with Indian restaurant supplier Gandhi Wine Suppliers Ltd. Wells had lost the contract to brew Cobra lager in 2009. Wells & Young own the recipe to Cobra, and haven’t changed it for Mongoose

Two bottles alongside a lunchtime curry in the City. A lovely flavour and a smooth texture that complemented the jalfrezi and the bhuna perfectly. It’s not something that I would want to drink solo, but perfect with a curry.

To be honest I don’t know how much of a difference there is between this and Cobra, I’d need to have them one after the other. This similarly hits the spot with a curry though, and that’s the important thing.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Feel a bit cheated with this one. I thought I was going to be drink a traditional Indian beer, but this beers is as authentic as you average UK curry. Having said al that is ok.

Big bottle from Tesco - blah, blah, blah, blah... it is lager, it isn’t a very good one at that. It was cheap.
