Must have been brought out of retirement, now at 3.8%. Correction sent. On cask at PoW, Farnborough. 07/06/16. On inspection I’d say this beer is a bit dark for a golden ale. The head is pretty much non-existent. A floral aroma but pretty flat. On first sup the word that springs to mind is bitter, but with a does leave a sweet honey taste. Palate - well pretty light but I have a sour taste lingering in my mouth. Nothing to write home about.

Cask (backlog). Amber colour with a small white fluffy head. Aroma is grains, some floral and wooden notes along with mild nuttiness. Flavour is quite similar, but also has a crisp maltiness to it.

Cask at the Pheasant, Chippenham. Nice branded glassware Waddys have now- I especially like their stemmed half pinters. Anyway, the stuff inside the glass was pale amber with a thin white head. It’s initially sweet and slightly dry; caramel is the main flavour and even that’s a bit muted. There’s a brief twist of sharp grapefruit at the end, but not enough to save this bland, dull beer. If only Waddys beers could be as good as their glasses.

Cask at The Town Mills, Andover. Amber with a scummy white head; grainy aroma; it’s a simple bitter, with some grain, some malt and some gentle hops. A nice session bitter.
