The sour cherry version of Pjassel, Bokke’s renowned peach lambic; this one was apparently limited to 80 bottles (75 cl with cork as usual) made in 2017, so a very rare Bokke / Méthode Goat treat. Many thanks to Goodfella86 for sharing, cheers David! Brightly pale lilac coloured, mousy, firm and stable head on a hazy purplish-tinged fuchsia red beer. Aroma brimming with sweet cherry jam and cherry juice, ripe peach, forest fruit yoghurt, lavender, even an aromatic juniper berry-like quality (which struck me before I even knew juniper wood was involved here), cream, sourdough, bath foam, blackberries. Sour onset filled to the brim with fleshy cherry, extremely fruity with sour lemon- and tart blackberry-like edges, the acidity of the fruit in combination with the lambic’s natural sourness even burning a bit; medium but spritzy carbonation, slick mouthfeel, bready basis dried completely by the fruit and lambic acidity. The ‘extreme’, fleshy fruitiness (with cherries more obvious than peaches) lasts well into the finish, where bready, tannic-astringent and spicy notes appear, including a retronasal whiff of that lavender-like and, unsurprisingly, juniper berry-like ‘perfume’ from the nose. Very unique, unusual but extremely ‘full’ and rich fruit sour, this is Bokkereyder (f*ck Cornelissen) at its best, once again. Glad I got a taste of this rarity.

Bottle shared at Foeders with Kermis, MarcoDL and others, thanks for sharing these guys! Bit hazy deep ruby with pink head. Strong sweet and sour cherries, sweet peach, soft herbal funk, some wet basement, blackberries, a touch of marzipan, hay. Just medium sour and sweet, light bitter. Perfect mouthcoating carbonation. I love fruited lambics, and this is really, really well done. Amazing body too. Stunning!
