Ale brewed with feijoas & aged in wine barrels. A beer that is developing cult like status in NZ and around the world due to its quality and scarcity. Feijoa is New Zealand’s second national fruit and this is surely a one of a kind beer! Be sure to savour the flavour.

500ml bottle. 2015. Lively on opening. Pours a sparkling golden colour with a fizzy white foam head that dissipates away to a thin layer and aroma of citric rind, fruity, feijoa, funk. Taste is sour, fruity, lemon citric, funky, with feijoa and kiwi fruit notes. Smooth & slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry sour finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle shared at Craft Islington - cheers! It pours hazy pale gold with a medium white head. The aroma is musty, rather fruity, vinous, wet dog, sour candy and bubblegum. The taste is crisp, tart, tangy, lemon sherbet, sour fruits, gooseberry, plum skin, vinous, sort of grassy, mild acidity and good mouth-pucker. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty interesting flavour profile. Enjoyable.

Bottle at home. Pours deep orange, nose is fruity, funky, oak, taste is similar, juicy, tart, grapes. Don’t know what a feijoa is but seems it’s tasty.

Bottle shared in London - cheers! Pours unclear gold with a foamy, white head. Big wood in the nose, some kiwi. Light sweet flavour with intense woody dryness, lemony tang. Light bodied with average carbonation. Strong woody noes in the finish, more lemon. Ok.

On tap at Brewers Cooperative. Aroma is all feijoa (mixture of pear, kiwifruit and apple). Taste is delivered in tight bubbles, with tart feijoa bursting through. This is sublime.

Draught@CBC2015. Hazy orange colour, small fluffy white head. Aroma is tart fruits, some wood, resin, berries, grains and mild lactic notes. Flavour is fruity, mildly lactic notes along with some cherry stones, dry wood as well as some slight funky sourness. Easygoing, yet quite complex.

37.5cl bottle courtesy of Oli and Anna @ Struise Schooltje, thanks for bringing this one all the way from NZ.
