Aroma is super maple syrup forward. Some light toasted bread notes with some vanilla. Light chocolate and faint roast notes with some light alcohol spice. Pours dark brown with a medium sized, medium thick, sightly tan head that recedes to the edges and lingers. Light lacing and medium length legs. Flavor is very sweet with moderate chocolate notes. Quite a bit of syrup character with some light maple notes. Some moderate dulce de leche notes with lighter caramel notes. Medium bitterness with some lingering roast notes. Some light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer, but it needs to be refined. Lots of syrup notes, but its a bit thin and it lacks the other characteristics of a porter and french toast.

Sample at Aficionado’s during the "Big Bad Bottle Share" on 02/10/2017. Opaque brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of maple syrup, malt and chocolate. Full-bodied with a strong maple character and notes of malt and chocolate syrup. The finish is sweet with a maple aftertaste. Borderline over the top, but enjoyable as it is.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong maple syrup, roast, brown sugar. Thick body, similar flavors to nose, dark chocolate, very sweet, boozy, really enjoyed this.
