Our first beer, brewed in our brewhouse at Kortenaken. This is our interpretation of the former farmhouse beers of the south of Belgium: lots of esters, tart and easy drinkable. The Grain bill consists of barley malt, raw wheat and oats. Fermented with our wild/native houseculture and maturated in red wine barrels for nine months. Bottled October 30, 2018.

Pours a clear blonde, medium to medium large, relatively unstable white head. Scent is sharp, only mildly phenolic, bit 'rubbery'. Fresh, relatively speaking, which is quite cool for a beer currently 6.5 years old. Taste is sharp and tart, but complex and phenolic as well. Mildly 'rubbery' still, not as typical saison as expected - not very true to style to me, but given the fact it's an 'interpretation', and the beer is all but fresh, i'll cut it some slack for that. some honey (age) and oak from the barrel - less specific (now?) on the wine. Higher carbonation level, but not over the top. Easy drinkable, balanced, and seems to have no age negativities at this point.

Nawet z plusikiem. Owocowo (tak mirabelkowo) sianowate, dosc intensywne, chlalne, troche a la dobre hamerykanskie kwasy ale nie rypie kwasnoscia czy octem w odroznieniu od tamtych wielu. Klasa

Magnum! Bit like Champagne... Fuck the beer resellers and opportunists... You share magnums with good friends. Cheers Tom!
