Imperial Mango Berliner Weisse

Mango Monkeys pours a deep orange-gold colour with a white head. The sourness of this berliner weisse is balanced with the natural sweetness from the addition of half a tonne of mangos (250g/L). This is a big hitter at 13.0%, yet it’s still refreshing and leaves you with the lovely tropical taste of mangoes to savour.

Shared courtesy of Grumbo with ITFCDan. Aroma heavy on the mango. Taste is thick of mango, sherbet and orange. Very nice.

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a orange with a bubble white head. Aroma is pungent fruit, mango, fruity. Taste is sour grapes and mango, very fruity, lingers around tart.

27/11/2021. Can from Suds & Soda, shared with ITFCfan/Dan. Pours cloudy dark orange with minimal head. Aroma is rich sweet mango. Medium sweetness, moderate sour. Full body, creamy/sticky texture, soft to flat carbonation. Increasing tart finish. Kept its 13% well hidden. Good but expected a bit more of a wow.

Bit brownish orange, bit of white head. Smell is tart, bit sweet, some light mango. Body is light for the ABV. Taste is somewhat sour, pretty sweet and some mango. After that, some cardboardy bitterness arrives, definitely got some oxidation issues. OKish

440ml can. Pours very hazy reddy orange with a small head. Aroma is slightly sour, overripe bready mango. Taste is sour with overripe mango throughout and mango puree on the finish. A touch of raw booze but it's mostly hidden. Thick in the mouth.

Pours unclear, bit oranged yellow. No real head. Scent is mild fruity, sweetish impression. Taste is mildly tart. noticable alcohol, bit to high for what I prefer in this style, obviously. Medium thick body (thick for the style ofcourse) . medium carbonation. Mild lactic acid. Bit fruity. Decent, but why the hell make it 13 % ???

Can from the Thurs night Virtual Salford Independent Beer festival box. The spice is most prominent in the aroma, with a mango core. Hazy neon orange. Frothy translucent white head. Extremely sweet fruit which is then tempered by the spice. Underlying booze. Thick bodied. Oily. Verging on gloopy. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Interesting stuff. If it was just fruity and gloopy I'd hate it... like Soda Stream syrup... I mean, I imagine, we never had a Soda Stream. But the trad spices do help. It's fine but a small serving is more than enough for me. And we're veering into alcopop territory here.
