Keg at #Arch Vii, 05/08/17. Black with a solid tan covering. Nose is big on rich coffee grinds, mellow roast, pinch of spice, charr, toffee, biscuit. Taste comprises dark malts, cooca powder, coffee grinds ... but falls away from the nose in this respect, fruit edge. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid coffee porter.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a brown head: The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, bread, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg at Brew By Numbers new tap room. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, good fine carbonation. Decent dark malts, feeling a little thin but with plenty of flavour. Some roast bitterness and rich earthy coffee, slight bitterness from the coffee. Modest dark fruits underneath. Dry finish. Pretty drinkable without ever getting exciting.

Dark brown color with a fine dense beige head. Ok lacing down the sides of the glass. Fine intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine mellow carbonation level. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Semi dry ending. Coffee, roast, cocoa and some chocolate in the flavor. Nice tasty beer.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours black-brown with a creamy, khaki head. Nice coffee aroma, ashy roast, dry cocoa. Light-medium sweet flavour with more ashy character, bittersweet dark chocolate, espresso. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and smooth texture. Dry and ashy in the finish, with tobacco, scorched earth, a little rubber, more baking cocoa. Solid, toothy stout.
