330ml bottle courtesy of blackhaddock at the 1st Shrewsbury Bottle Share, Jan 14. A nice balanced beer to ease us into the evening before the insane flavours that followed, the 6.5% ABV giving an otherwise standard lagery beer a slightly richer, solid taste. A pleasant, easy drinking beer.

Finally 2000+ ratings in I wind up trying a beer from Luxembourg, a country which has eluded me so far. Pours a light dark amber with an orange hue, crystal-clear with not that much off-white head. Nose is sweet caramel extracts, metallic, light malts, smells tampered with, light fake fruit,… Taste is sweet caramel extracts, sweet cheap grains, additives, lightly metallic, light nuts, metallic toffee, sticky herbs & some light fruits. Lightly fizzy body with noticeable extract. As you get it, a macro beer with lots of caramel extract & probably some other additives as well to dress it up. Actually not bad for what it is but you have to get past the metallic nature & over additives. Drinks away easily. According to the bottle “A bottle with Luxembourg’s character reserved for grand occasions.” Which is only the case if you are used to chugging pale lagers etc. which I assume is the target audience. It does its job. I am not complaining & way more enjoyable than expected. (33 cl. bottle as Diekirch Reserve picked up @ a Carrefour in Brussels. BBF 24/05/2013. Consumed @ home.)

Comes in a posh looking 0.75 litre cork and caged bottle. Mid amber clear body with a slight head of white covering each of the three glasses it was poured into. The nose although not strong had a multitude of aromas: citrusy hops, nuts, dried fruits and some caramel for good measure. Thin and fizzy really: tastes cover lemon and grapefruit tempered with a malty undertone of caramel. Strange and almost interesting: but not something I’ll actively search for again.

Leicht herber, karamellig malziger Antrunk. Laff, wässrig, ziemlich langweilig. Hintergründig weiterhin karamellig, in Ordnung. 8/6/8/7/7/7
