amazing nose of fudge, nutmeg, vanilla, sugar cane, a touch of oak. Very sweet nose. The mouth follows the nose. Alcohol well hidden. Just what you kinda expect from such

12 oz bottle from Growler Guys CDA. Bottled about four months ago. Aroma has notes of raisin, cocoa, licorice, coffee, molasses, nutmeg. Pours a very dark brown to black with a one finger beige head that settles into a ring quickly. Taste is moderately bittersweet and quite savory, with flavors like the aroma descriptors, along with noticeable wood and rummy notes. Can't say I'm getting the orange peel. Pretty good.

Bottle - this one doesn’t really come together well until it has warmed a bit - when cold the rum dominates too much - dark ruby pour, nearly black - rum, coffee, and nutmeg in the nose, along with some molasses and vanilla - medium to full body - alcohol is warming but not boozy - flavors of Turkish coffee, rum, spiciness - sweet, but not cloying - caramelized sugars and some dark fruit - it’s quite nice, really - I honestly wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did.

I’ve had a couple of the other numeraled Deschutes imperial porters recently. Highly appreciated. Now I have XXXII to sample with the estimable wife and the prodigal son. Two 12 oz bottles dated on 6/16/20 for us to share, snifters all around to drink from. The pour is blacker than Hades and accompanied by an interestingly colored yellow-tan head. A really nice nose, baking chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. I follow with a drink. My gosh, as complex as any imperial stout I have had. Coffee, dark chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, molasses. Mighty happy to have two more for later.

12oz bottle from Brewers Haven. Dark brown pour, wispy beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate with traces of smoke. Taste brings light roast, more chocolate, light sweetness, with the booze showing up at the finish. Worthy of all the versions that have gone before.

12 ounce bottle! Pours a pitch black hue with a medium light brown head. A big roast, light smoke and chocolate nose. Huge coffee, roasr, light metal, sweet lactose, tropical rum. This is very good. Superbly balanced.
