(Bottle) Hazy brown colour with foamy, beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, toast, roasty grain, prunes and raisins. Malty, spicy, roasty taste with dark bread, toast, prunes, raisins, caramel, wort, liquorice, a touch of smoke and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, mainly dry. Warming, slightly vinous, complex and rich. Interesting. Very nice.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is smoked wood, some toffee, yeasty and mild herbal and earthy tones. Flavour is very dry smoked wooden tones with some nutty and yeasty elements along with some toffee. Quite dry palate. Überdry palate.

Bottle, many thanks Nische! Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, mildly funked up. Taste is caramel, a bit funkiness, Fruchtgummi. Warming finish, full bodied, fine-bubbled carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle from SB. Somewhat cloudy brown with beige head. Sweet, malty with some ash, muscovado, sweet liquorice. Very subtle smoke as a foundation. Quintessentially old school, which feels like it will age like a champ.

Flaska från SB. Valnötsfärgad vätska med lågt skum som snart försvinner. Söt maltig doft. Doft och smak av mörkt socker, läder, jord, höstlöv, sötlakrits, aningen rök, mineraler. Avslutning är torr och rejält besk. Kanske väl besk för att bli harmonisk men visst är det riktigt gott.

Needs some time in the glass to warm and open up which allows the caramel to shine and our balance the smoke and bitter herbal hops. Great now and will probably and hopefully age well too.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Unclear dark brown, small head. Earthy licorice aroma aroma. Mid sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Earth, licorice, grass and minerals. Very bitter finish. Rich and harmonious.
