At a tasting, small bubbly fizzy quickly dissapearing head, very deep red color with brown taints and lots of floates, aroma of brown bread with hints of caramel and funk, flavor of brown bread, caramel and dried apple and apricot, quite sweet, light noticable sourness. Nice but not too exciting.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles' place. Deep amber with a bit of floaties and a beige head. Caramel, lots of oak, fruitiness, some vanilla, sourish, a bit sweetish, bitterish note in the finish. Nice but a bit heavy and alcoholic. And how the hell is this a "Double Chocolate Porter"?!

0,1l from tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. brown hazy color, small off-white head. smells flowery, apricots, apricot jam, lightly nutty, light spices, bit parfumy. quite nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of apricots, nutty, light wood notes, apricot jam, spices, some alcohol, licorice, caramel. finishes rather balanced with notes of apricot, light alcohol and caramel. very good one, a bit on the alcoholic side, but overall quite enjoyable.

From bottle at CBF Wien.
Brown body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of barrel, lots of cocoa, dried fruits, dark chocolate, some coffee.
Taste follows this, but even smoother, with some more vanilla.
Full, creamy, velvety mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, medium wooden, moderate roasty, a bit sweet, a bit dry, moderate alcoholic, with cocoa and some coffee.
Delicious. Incredibly smooth, with lovely cocoa and barrel notes throughout and a wonderful, velvety mouthfeel. Alcohol provides some comfortable warmth. The Sonnenkönig range continues to amaze me, very tasty stuff!
