Cask (O'Neill's, Uppsala) - Dark brown with red tinges. Toasted malt, blackcurrant and hints of black cherries in the aroma. Berries, toasted malt, liquorice, blackcurrant and some slightly soapy notes can all be detected in the taste. Very nice.

Bottle @home. Bruna, schiuma ecrù media, discretamente persistente. Al naso note di malti tostati, nocciole, castagne, caffé, con una buona dose di luppolo. In bocca è bilanciata, attacco dolce con chiusura amara. Corpo leggero, carbonazione media. Buona!

Bottle online from Beersniffers. Pours a very dark brown almost black colour with a medium sized throthy beige head. Faint aromas of roasted malts, brown bread and maybe a hint of chocolate. Taste has the same notes again with a little added coffee and nuts. Burnt bitter finish. Thin body, lively fizz on the palate and slightly oily mouthfeel. A roasty bitterness and not a lot else. Not very good.

A very dark brown beer, a head is quite big and beige. Aroma has caramel, some bread and roasstiness. Taste has low roastiness, some sweetness of syrup, not too sweet, anyway because of some bitterness. Medium bodied. I don't know, not inspirating this time.

Malty taste with notes of caramel, dark fruit, liquorice, dark bread and a mild spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and very well balanced. Superb mild. Very nice.

Very dark brown with soapy head. Aroma and flavour have some dark malts. Bittersweet and sessionable.

Very dark, almost black. Has a strange grassy aroma and flavour with a drier finish. It absolutely doesn’t have body & depth!

On cask at The Bishops Arms - Gustav Adolfs Torg (Malm), pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a medium, bubbly beige head. Aroma brings out typical English malt, earthy notes, and a bit of soil. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy British malt, crusty bread notes, and a slight fungal character. Clean and bready. Great cask ale.
