(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki, 20110401) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized and white with brown shading. Aroma had chocolate, aniseed and fruitiness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, aniseed, chocolate, yeast resembling Rochefort beers, fruitiness and mild bitterness. Aftertaste had maltiness, aniseed and low bitterness. Initial impression of this beer was good but then especially the taste turned quite displeasing.

Tap @ Halloween beerfest, Århus. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, fishermans friend. Taste is much like aroma with some anis in the aftertaste. Medium body, soft carbonation. Strong ( to ) sweet beer. 311010

500mL bottle, pours dark reddish brown. Aroma of caramel, fruits, mint and tobacco. Flavour of mint, cough drops, slight fruits... somewhat offensive to me, really. Can't justify a higher rating than this.

10 cl. sample from bottle at DØE tasting - 10 best new danish beers 2010. Unusual ingredients in a beer - seeweed and snuff. Hmm...snuff. You can only get a hit of the tobacco in the aroma, but the taste is more dominated by licorice. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. To spicey for my taste, to dominated by the licorice.

Clear reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malty, and loads of liquorice. Flavor is rather sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish with liquorice. Too sweet for me. 040910

A very spicy beer with a strange flavor. To much use of spices for my taste.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Big tan head. Weird and unpleasant sweetish aroma, strong notes of cough syrup, anise and tobacco. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, notes of dark malts, brown candi sugar, raisins and liquorice, the snuff tobacco is fairly moderate. Very moderate hops in the finish. Not a winner by me.

At Borefts BF 2010. Dark brown colour with some rich malt on aorma. Like unbrewed out malt. Rich, slight pepper hop finish. Quite a rich complex aorma. Some pepper. OK
