Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, smoke, peat and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, roasted, peat, smoke and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Sample at CBC. Pours nice heavy. Odd brew, bacon smokeyness, grease, saltyness and actualy kind of meaty. Also licorice and chili. A perfect festival brew, nothing you want more than a few sips of...

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session I, 01/05/2015. Black with a moderate tan swirl. Nose is subtle BA strokes, chocolate, roast, light spice, toffee fudge. Taste comprises light peat notes, black pepper, chocolate, spice, sweet notes, earthy. Medium + body, fine carbonation, earthy peppery close. Ok BA impy, fairly subtle barrel, middle of the road for style though.

Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of soy, maple syrup, tar, woody. Smoky too. Taste is ashy, very woody and dry. Some smoked ham as well. Not my cup of stout.

Draught @ CBC’15
Aroma has licorice, whisky, some peaty tones and some chili notes. Flavour has rubbery notes, strong peaty tones, stinging whiskey and mild herbal notes. Finishes with mild lingering chili tones that grow stronger towards the end of the glass. Whisky is very strong here. Unusual but nice.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark opaque brown pour with a thin tan head, some phenols and sweet malt in the aroma, taste has mellow smoke, plain chocolate, some sweetness, assertive chilli kick in the background, vanilla slightly showing itself, thought I’d hate this from the aroma, but I enjoyed, especially when it reached room temperature.
